The One-Piece Comeback For All Ages
As major celebrities, models and influencers, like Taylor Swift, Emily Ratajkowski, and Kylie Jenner, have shared their beach vacation selfies in their favorite one pieces, searches for and purchases of one-pieces have increased dramatically in the last year. Unlike some other crazy trends we’ve seen, this is one we can get behind. After all, It’s the most flattering swimsuit style for all ages — and can even be sexier than a bikini.
Read on below to learn about the most appropriate styles for your age and take a look at some of my favorite one piece suits on Nordstrom.com.
20s: High Leg
Show off your assets with this sexy one-piece style. Arguably the biggest trend in swimsuits this year, the high-cut or high-leg suit is risque, but why not rock it like style icons — Selena Gomez and Bella Hadid.
30s: Monokini and Mesh
Show off a hint of skin in an understated, sexy way with a monokini or mesh details. The mesh detail will give you all the support and coverage you need without taking away the sex appeal you want lounging at the beach.
40s: The One-Shoulder One-Piece
Combine two of the biggest trends this summer: one-shoulder styles and one-piece suits. Just like a mesh suit, the one-shoulder one-piece is a great option for looking sexy at the beach. It will draw the attention to your face and upper body, allowing for a more covered and supportive bathing suit below. Pro tip: you can even take it from the beach to dinner, by wearing it as a bodysuit.
50s: Ruched Halter and Off-The-Shoulder
The ruching detail will cover the hips while the support from the halter lifts your bust. Off-the-shoulder tops are having a moment carry the trend over into your swimwear. They style adds the perfect amount of sex appeal with bare shoulders, but still covers any spots you might want to camouflage.
60s +: Sleeved
Protect your skin from the sun and get some extra support with a sleeved one-piece. Keep it youthful and trendy with color blocking. Keep in mind color blocking easily camouflages your tummy if you are looking for more coverage.
