Sarah LaMont

Owner, Principal Stylist

With a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Washington, I didn’t expect a side job at Nordstrom to spark a whole new career, but one $100 tip and a very grateful wedding guest later, I was hooked.

I quickly discovered that styling wasn’t just about clothes, it was about confidence, comfort, and helping real people feel like the best version of themselves. I met so many people who felt overwhelmed by fashion, and I made it my mission to change that.

Today, I style both men and women for everyday life, not just events. Whether it’s a casual coffee run or date night, I help clients build a wardrobe they actually love to wear. No stress, no stuffy rules, just wearable style that works for real life.

My love for fashion started early—outfits always had the power to set the tone for my day. Through trial and error, I figured out what made me feel confident and never looked back.

I began my fashion career at Nordstrom in the Women’s Designer Department while earning my associate’s degree in Communication from Florida Gulf Coast University. I quickly moved into personal styling, built strong relationships, and found my passion for helping others express themselves through clothing.

Joining Why Style gave me the opportunity to grow my career, support my loyal clients, and continue building wardrobes that feel as good as they look. For me, it’s not just about trend, it’s about creating a personal, functional style that empowers you every day.

I discovered the power of fashion as early as sixth grade. I loved picking out outfits for my friends and mixing and matching clothes with my sisters to create unique looks for all of us. Even back then, I realized how exciting it was to help someone feel more confident just through their style. That feeling still motivates me today—to know that with a bit of creativity, I can help someone feel more empowered in their everyday life.

What sets me apart is that I don’t follow every trend just because it’s popular. Trends don’t work for everyone, and I believe in creating new ones that fit each individual’s unique style. Fashion has given me a way to express myself and share that creativity with others. To me, styling is more than just clothes—it’s a reflection of who you are. When you're comfortable in what you're wearing, you show up as your best self. Confidence is key to being the best you!

The story goes that when I was just two years old, I looked at my aunt and said, “There isn’t a stitch of brown in that dress!”—then promptly told her to change her shoes. From that moment on, I’ve been offering fashion advice to family and friends ever since. With both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Merchandising and Product Development from Florida State University, I’ve learned the power of combining creativity, knowledge with industry insight.

Today, I’m thrilled to bring my experience in celebrity, editorial, and corporate styling to help you get dressed for your everyday life. I believe your closet should be a source of inspiration—not frustration. My motto? If you love it, wear it!"

Now myvdaughter joins the 4th generation of style enthusiasts.vI studied journalism at Ball State University, and had a 28 year successful career as avresidential real estate broker. If I had a dollar for every time someone said to me “only YOU could pull that off” I could retire immediately.  My personal style has always been a bit out there and I’ve never seen a statement piece I didn’t need to add to my collection.  Putting on my odd armor gives me the strength to go out into the world and feel unstoppable.

As a commercial and personal branding photographer, I’ve seen how important the right outfit is for building confidence and telling a bold story.  I’m taking my 15 years of creative photography experience and pouring those compositional and conceptual skills into wardrobe styling with Why Style.  I truly believe your personal style holds the power to open doors, make strong impressions, and build legends.

I’m here for anyone who is weird, but in a good way.
